Backstage Productions International Announces the Global Launch of SongSplits at MIDEM 2016
Cannes, France – June 3, 2016 – Backstage Productions International is pleased to announce the global launch of SongSplits, the world’s first cloud based split sheet designed to insure song registration accuracy through its fool proof songwriter registration platform and honoured to be included in tandem with SOCAN’s API announcement this week in Toronto, May 31, 2016.
Inaccuracy with respect to song registration is perhaps the most costly area of lost revenue globally for composers, accounting for billions of dollars of undistributed royalties annually. The platform expects that other PROs will follow SOCAN’s lead and sign on to SongSplits. Steve Thomson, President of Backstage Productions International, who initiated discussions two years ago with the executive team at SOCAN, gives full credit to Mike McCarty (MIDEM 2014) for immediately recognizing the need for SongSplits and the importance of the SongSplits platform and innovation, while noting that SOCAN’s CEO Eric Baptiste was big on APPs and technology when he first joined the SOCAN family several years ago.
In addition to song registration, SongSplits will give PROs, Publishers, Managers, Producers, Labels, Broadcasters, Mechanical Rights Agencies, Concert Promoters, Music Supervisors and all music users multiple advantages when it comes to clearing music rights and managing music catalogues.
Stay tuned for more news from SongSplits as the technology unfolds.
